We are excited to welcome Donna Thomas, creator and star of the autobiographical work, From Southern Belle to Mrs. Cartel. Domestic violence has been a common theme in Donna’s life and after living in silence and shame for more than twenty years she speaks eloquently and passionately (with a side of humor!) about her experiences, the importance of perseverance, and how she overcame extreme circumstances.
This event, held in conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, is our only annual fundraising event, and we rely on community sponsorships to make this event a success. Proceeds from this event help to support our many life saving and life changing programs including emergency shelter, transitional housing, counseling for adults and children and financial literacy.
